A proud “GRITS” (Girl Raised In The South), I have had my share of interesting experiences, but what really fueled my passion for family reunions is my two loves: God and my family.
Raised by my maternal grandparents, I was immediately taught the importance of faith and family above all else. Thanks to my grandfather, my childhood was filled with weekly visits to my relatives’ homes. However, the family eventually dispersed, and it seemed like funerals became the only reason why and when everyone came together. Feeling deeply disheartened by this, I ultimately took matters into my own hands to changed that narrative. I decided to labor and birth the family reunions myself.
It wasn’t long after my initial reunion that relatives, friends, and others crowned me as “That Family Reunion Chick” and started regarding me as the go-to resource for family reunion planning. From there, I’ve birthed several brands: All Things Family Reunion, Family Tree Artogy, Fingerprint Tree Generator and Family In A Tree — all of which creatively celebrate the beauty of family and joy of quality time spent with loved ones. It is often an attempt to overcome a persisting challenge, that one ends up creating the most efficient of solutions. This is in fact what lead me to create these amazing brands.
One of my most defining and memorable moments was winning a national Ultimate Family Reunion contest that awarded my family a 25,000-dollar family reunion. This solidified my calling to family reunions and set me on a path to pay it forward which I now do in my free private Facebook Group (Family Reunions Matter) through monthly giveaways and contest.
As a writer who has always had an affinity for journaling, I will soon be releasing a new book entitled “The Ups and Downs of Planning a Family Reunion”.

I was very full of excitement, but lacked focus for my ideas, and a plan on how to bring to fruition the grand plan within six months. It wasn’t long before I discovered that Kathleen is genuinely passionate about sharing her experience and expertise and all the little details that make family reunions so special. She encourages others to do the same.
Kathleen and the group proved to be invaluable to me. My participation in my family’s reunion planning was a breeze because I had access to a wealth of knowledge and to someone, like Kathleen who is so willing to share.
Last minute cyber surfing to find a creative activity to engage our family members in at our weekend family reunion in Atlanta in 2018, lead me to the “Fingerprint Tree Generator”. I was looking for a unique way to engage our family in an activity that would leave a lasting and memorable impression. With one day before our reunion, I sent an email and to my surprise Kathleen, the creator, responded within a short period of time. Kathleen was not only professional and courteous but demonstrated a unique interest in helping me to obtain a completed product.
